Village Seal
Sewer Rehabilitation Work to Begin Monday, July 17th

Notice for Residents of the Village of Cold Spring, NY

This NOTICE is to inform Village Residents that the Sewers on Fair St from Main St to Northern Ave, on Market St, Fish and North St will be reconstructed utilizing a cast in place liner method or cleaned using a Jet-Vac truck within the next seven (7) days.

During this work, there will be a temporary disruption of sewer service to residences and/or businesses in this area for approximately 8 hours. There will also likely be traffic disruptions in this area which may include temporary road closings and detours around the work area.

Our field crew will notify residents by knocking on doors and by leaving a "door hanger" notice just before the work is being conducted. In event that this work takes place when you are not home, if you do not see our crews on your street, it is safe to use your facilities. If you have any questions or concerns during our work, please do not hesitate to ask for the Site Supervisor or Crew Foreman at the location.

To avoid the possibility of flows backing up into your property during this period, please limit all liquids from going down your drains and do not use washing machines or dishwashers. Failure to follow these instructions may cause your discharge to backup into your property.

During certain phases of the operation, you may detect an odor. Odors are most likely in buildings with dry or non-existent traps. In most cases, pouring one or two gallons of water down sinks and opening your windows can minimize any odors. While the odor is typically not strong except in the immediate work area, if you are highly sensitive to Styrene odors, you may wish to be out of the area during the time that work is being performed.

If you have a sump pump that dischargers into sewer, it must be disconnected during our installation process.

We may need to request access to your basement and/or bathroom if problems arise. All persons requesting to enter residents’ homes will have a company photo ID and a business card. These persons will not ask you for any money. This work is being paid for by the Village of Cold Spring, Sewer Fund. If you have any questions or concerns relative to the identity of any person, contact the Village Clerk or Police to confirm their identities.

If you have any questions, please call the National Water Main Lining Project Manager Javiel Rivera at 201-852-5021, or Assistant Vice President Joe Perone at 973 483-3200.

Sincerely yours,
